REPORT #268 May 2000
WATER AND SEWAGE AUTHORITY FAILING IN THE TOLEDO HILLS COMMUNITIES?

Produced by the Belize Development Trust

Every year, people come down in the remote Toledo Hill communities with CHOLERA. This is an easily treatable disease, but has to be caught in time. Early, within the first two days, or you can die.

Bacteria apparently coming downstream from Guatemala create the cholera epidemics. One would think with all the money spent on the Belize Water and Sewage Authority, that they would have solved the problem of cholera epidemics in the Toledo Hill communities by now.

Wonder why not?
