REPORT #285 May 2000
THE BELIZEAN PRICELESS ARCHEOLOGICAL HERITAGE IS TO BE DESTROYED BY TOWNIES PLANNING, SO SAYS THE RUMOR MILL! BELIZE WILL LOSE ALL IT'S HISTORICAL TREASURE, WORTH HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS

Produced by the Belize Development Trust

The crazy townies of the port Belize City are planning to destroy the fabulous riches of the nation of Belize, in the historical archeological heritage.

In the news, yesterday, there was an announcement, that a National Museum will be built at the old Gaol down by the seashore of the port Belize City. No one seems to mind, that a museum houses irreplaceable artifacts of the nation of Belize. That any such state museum contents would be priceless in nature for future generations.

Obviously, the planners from the town political gang are not old enough to have gone through Hurricane Hattie in the port town. As a flood plain, the gaol was under 16 feet of water, surging tide, crashing waves and roaring water currents, as houses floated down the street. Boats up river in protected mangroves were found 2 miles inland. I remember very well! I was on Douglas Jones street, fortunately in a house that survived.

The port of Belize City is built on a swamp. It has been hit several times by hurricanes and will be hit again and again. Roughly 30 to 60 years apart. To build a museum in the flood plain of Belize City, is to condemn the priceless heritage of Belize to total loss. What foolishness! Build it in Belmopan you crazy people you! Have you no sense at all?
