BELIZE PROUDLY ANNOUNCES A NEW PUBLIC AVIATION SCHOOL!
Produced by the Belize
Development Trust
|
Mission Statement of the new Public School:
To provide quality occupational training to persons interested
in mechanics, electronics, electrical wiring, aviation and
engines of all types. So that students may participate in the
needed growth of engineering, entrepreneurship, export and
sustitute imported mechanical devices and a wide range of
subsidiary employment and self-employment opportunities within
Belize.
Applications:
Applicants should have at least two years of High School.
Location:
The Federal District of Belmopan. The Public Aviation School
has dormitories and cafeteria for students from all around the
six districts of the nation of Belize. Foreign students are
welcome, provided they can speak and write English as a second
language and there are open spaces.
Graduation:
Graduates will be expected to pass the USA FAA exams for
Powerplant and Airframe licensing. Graduates that do not pass
the FAA exam should not worry, the school graduation certificate
will qualify you for many jobs in Belize and more importantly
qualify you to be self-employed with your own business, it just
will not qualify you to work on aircraft. There is ample room to
apply the lessons learned to many needy fields within Belize.
>From bulldozer repairs, automobile mechanics, air conditioning,
outboard mechanics, welding shops, manufacturing of specialized
equipments, civil engineering equipment, labratory equipment
testing and many, many other fields. Self employment and your
own business is guaranteed with the skills learned here, if you
want it.
Length of time of Course:
Two years!
WAIT A MINUTE! IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING IN BELIZE?
No! The answer is NO! It is not happening in Belize yet, though
the need is great. Casual subjective estimates and studies show,
that Belize Education needs ten students from the above
engineering school for each equivalent graduate MBA or Accounting
Degree currently being produced.
This school is the dream of Ray Auxillou, of Caye Caulker
village on the Barrier Reef and he has been pushing, talking and
writing about it since 1964. So far, with complete failure by
those who get themselves elected to lead the government, or
dictate the educational curriculums for education nationwide.
Let me flesh out the course subjects for the coming FALL SEMESTER
for those of you interested in this public school idea. The
following FALL SEMESTER curriculum is taken from the Public
School in Miami, Florida, USA. The George T. Baker Aviation
Public School, 3275 Northwest Forty-Second Avenue, Miami,
Florida, 33141 Telephone: 1-305-871-3143
The Aircraft Technician Program:
This is a 2400 hour, three-part aviation mechanics program, which
prepares students for employment as an aircraft mechanic.
Enrollment can be for days, evenings, or on a part-time, or full
time basis. The school complies with the requirements of Part
147 of the FAA regulations.
In Belize, an American country, and a wild pioneer rugged
sparsly populated country, these USA style courses are deemed to
be more applicable to the needs of the educational system, the
countries needs, than those systems that are longer and more
regimented in over-populated Europe. The U.K. in particular.
