Gigantic Mahogany along a forest trail
A sure centennial survivor. So massive that Hattie only twisted its upper limbs back in 1961. Why so strong? A stream keeps it well hydrated year-round. It would take 3 or more people to hug around it.
Mahogany - Punab ,Ka'awakché:
The Mahogany tree is the national tree of Belize known in Yucatec Maya as Punab or Ka'awakché. A Mahogany could grow over a 100 feet tall. The mahogany tree matures in 60 to 80 years.
