Pilot Luis Mes joins Tropic Air
As a young boy, I would dream of becoming a pilot, said Luis. In fact I told my father that one day I would become a pilot and now my dream has come true.

Luis started his commercial pilot career as a Captain with Tropic Air flying a Cessna 172. His first flight was on Friday, October 11, 2002. When asked how he felt after that first flight, he said, It was very good and a nice experience for me. I flew to Corozal and Caye Caulker and everything went just fine.

Tropic Air is pleased and actually quite proud that we hired the first Maya Indian pilot, stated John Greif III, Tropics President. This is a great achievement, not only for Luis Mes personally, but for his family, the people of his village, and the country of Belize, Greif concluded.

Luis completed his education here in Belize, then went on to graduate in August 2002 from the Tyler School of Aviation located in Tyler, Texas. Upon his return to Belize he began his flying career. Press Release, Tropic Air, Monday, October 14, 2002
