AmbergrisCaye.com Who is Advantage Realty? Advantage Realty is the formation of two close friends and now partners, Oscar Cisneros and Christopher Burkey, both residents of Ambergris Caye. After years of watching our amazing county of Belize, The Jewel, grow towards maturity, we found the need to share our experience and expertise. Thus, Advantage Realty was born in the mid-summer of 2007. Oscar Cisneros was born in the Corozal District of Belize in the spring of 1972. Growing up in Belize during the 80’s was a challenge. Fortunately his strong work ethic finally landed him a job on a cruise ship during his late teens. This propelled him into the tourism service sector, opening the door to where he is today. Oscar has opened several successful businesses both on the mainland and Ambergris Caye. He currently operates three businesses in addition to Advantage Realty. C’s Phones and CDs was the first electronics store to offer repairs and unlocking services for cellular phones. Currently these services are offered in addition to sales of a wide variety of electronics and appliances. Seeing a need for reasonably priced high quality furniture, Oscar opened C’s Furniture over a year ago. C’s Furniture offers all types of solid mahogany and hardwood furniture for the domestic and export markets. The Liquor Box was opened in the spring of 2005 and is the island’s only full service liquor retail outlet. Needless to say Oscar is a busy man. He enjoys spending time with wife and kids after work. On the weekends you can find him relaxing with his extended family in the Corozal District. Christopher Burkey was born in upstate New York in the early winter of 1971. He, along with his folks, moved to the Cayo District of Belize in 1988. Chris has been a Permanent Resident of Belize ever since. Growing up in Belize was a challenge, one that was greatly enjoyed as a young man in this unique Caribbean nation. A highlight of his experience was the adventure of driving a dump truck to Belize and assisting with the creation of the first hydro-electric project in Belize. Soon enough, as marriage and children entered the picture, Chris entered the tourism sector. This industry was literally just starting to bud. Marketing, management, auditing and even teaching at Belize City schools became part of Chris’ portfolio. Working with many properties from San Ignacion, to Corozal, to Punta Gorda to Ambergris Caye, Chris networked himself well. Finally settling into the fastest paced growth area, Ambergris Caye, he enjoyed the condo sales niche market. Recently Chris offered his services as an industry consultant, specializing in start-up projects. He enjoys diving, exercise, traveling and spending time with his wife and children.
