AmbergrisCaye.com AmbergrisCayeFineArts.com Good Evening & Welcome ! Thursday December 27, 2007 The Gallery features the art work of California Artist Linda Mikulich. It is situated in San Pedro on the Exotic Caribbean Island of Ambergris Caye in Belize Central America. Come in and be pleasantly surprised! AmbergrisCayeFineArts.com Linda Mikulich was born in Las Vegas, Nevada , 1951. As a child, Linda began what would become her lifes work, being an artist. Painting scenes, of the desert ,pictures from Sunset Magazine and Arizona Hyway magazine, her life as an artist was to begin. In the fourth grade she won her first art award. Winning 1st place in the state for her tooth care poster. The prize was a $25.00 savings bond, a picture in the paper with an article. Quite a thrill for a 9 year old. I realized what I love , others do to. Linda is mostly self taught Although art was her focus throughout high school and Junior college. I have always let nature and the play of light influence what I draw, paint or sculpt. In the early 1970s she and a business partner, opened an airbrush shop in Southern California called Acrylic Illusions. There they created murals on cars, vans and motorcycles . By 1980 , Linda relocated to the Monterey Peninsula, where she started her business, Lin Originals Architectural Glass & Design, carving glass, creating pieces as small as bud vases and as large as walls of glass, becoming a 30 yrs. career . . Linda has combined carving of glass, painting the murals and faux finishing, creating the full interactions of all three disciplines. There is no reason to limit artwork to just canvas. I enjoy working large so murals were a natural next step. Having taken a vacation sailing the southern Caribbean for 10 days in 2004, Linda fell in love with Belize. Now, having fulfilled her dream to move to Belize, she has opened a fine arts gallery full of the inspiration of the Caribbean, the coral reef and the jungles of the mainland. Her works are mostly Acrylics on Canvas, but she does work in oils as well, and expects to continue offering murals and faux finishes to her clients. Art is a journey, never mastered, never, a painting finished. There is a time where you just have to call it done. Art is like breathing for me, I have to do it. I just thank God for this talent. because this is what I do best. It is wonderful to do what you love!
