Caliente was definitely my favorite!! The Flautas were delicious, same with the coconut chicken curry, the ginger rum chicken, conch fritters and everything else we had there!!!

I intend to post my trip report soon but here were some of our dinner experiences last week: Jambels-good food, spicy!...Caliente- absolutely fabulous! (if we had gone earlier in the week, we would have eaten there every day)...

Here's a subject I can sink my teeth into!! First in my heart is Caliente's! I eat there almost daily and find the food, service, all excellent. It is hard to describe ALL my favorites there, everything is just great! All the meals are individually prepared so enjoy a refreshment and a conversation, or better yet, try the Conch Fritters!

I'd have to say Caliente's at the Spindrift Hotel is the best. They had the best margarita shrimp dish. Their pina colada was great too, I think they used fresh coconut it was very creamy. Give it a try. Service is good there, we had a good waiter who kept coming back and gave you suggestions if you didn't know what you wanted.

let me add my praise as well...the best meal I had both times I went last year were at Caliente's...had the shrimp in ginger sauce, wrapped in bacon and melt in your mouth good...the next time I was really too late for lunch & too early for dinner, so their shrimp wasn't ready yet...I was so sad, but the guy said he'd fix something special for me...the cook fixed up something like tostadas w/lobster, conch & fish that was one of the best meals I've ever had anywhere!

Caliente cooked the fish and lobster we caught while fishing....it was absolutely the best fish I have ever eaten....it was like a tempura with sesame seeds....I am drooling as I think about it...

I was just there the first couple of days in March and tried Calientes and it was AWESOME! I had the margarita shrimp with a pina colada and dessert was good too just forgot what I had though. Our waiter was great, sorry forgot your name. I definitely have to say they are the best. I went to Fido's to here what all the rave was about and walked away disappointed with their food. I guess people go there for the music and entertainment. Another place I've heard great things about is Elvi's Kitchen didn't get a chance to try them wish I did.

Caliente is very popular with people who live in San Pedro as a lunch place. The lunch menu is moderately priced and a good value. Most lunch items, except seafood plates, are about $10bz for plenty of food. The sauces (they come on the side) vary from mild to, well, caliente. If you get there about 11 or 11:30 AM, you can get one of the tables outside on the verandah between the main dining room and the Pier Lounge. There are also 3 or 4 tables along the front where the glass louvered windows offer breeze and great view of the beach and noonday water.

Spin Drift Hotel is nice, we checked it out, and the restaurant there is the greatest Caliente's, best soups.
Caliente's was the female's favorite, especially the soups, Sopa Pollo de Lima, yum, then the Tortilla Soup....my choice. Get there by 2:00 pm, or the soup will be sold out. Huge bowls, great lunch. Say Hi to our waiter Ernesto. Also Pier Lounge and Chicken Drop is on site. Western Union out front incase you run out of money.
