Hol Chan

We dove Hol Chan today. Took three fellows out on resort certifications. Very strong current going out into the incoming tide. Of course we flew on the way back. Visibility was so-so.
Everette said all the big fish were on the other side of the cut because with such a strong tide they were feasting out there. There were still good sized schools of smaller fish on the reef. Only one Green Moray - that I didn't see; nor did I see the two Spotted Eagle Rays.

Wow guys I'm digging this thread on photography tips. This should be a regular topic.
I've got the Nikon D-80 with one lens, the 18 to 200 zoom. there are an awful lot of choices here I've had my nose stuck in the instruction book for days.
Keep talking I'm scooping it up.

I have the d-80 and love it. The 70-300 with vibration reduction is fantastic. I used a polarizing lense over the UV filter and what a difference it made in the colors I have some photo's if you want to see.

as to ASA,, i keep mine at 200 unless i absolutly need more speed. and even then i look at options such as strobe.
could be left over from my kodachrome 25 days, but i can't stand even the slightest grain.

edit: yes,, show the photos!

Barnacle - you will have even less grain if you go to a lower ASA. Are you shooting print or slide film? Above or Below water?
Elbert - see why we need to have a get-together. Each of us has some very valuable information and each of us (well me anyway) needs help.
