Description
Found this washed up on to the shore this morning in front of Banyon Bay. It was about 5 inches long and almost seemed to be breathing. I nudged it back into the sea with my shoe. Anyone know what it is?

Don't think it was a flounder. Didn't see a fin or tail. It was more like a big chicken cutlet. I'll add another view or two, maybe that will help.

Looks like an oddly shaped sea hare. Could be odd shaped because it is out of water though.

I think you're spot on with the sea hare in distress. I couldn't recognize it because it was all curled up from being tossed on shore by the rough seas that morning. Thanks.
