Golden-Fronted Woodpecker on Ambergris Caye

Description

I suspect shes got an egg. Usually she leaves if i get close but this time she won't.
The woodpeckers presence in a coconut tree killing the tree is a fallacy. I've watched this tree with its 4 woodpecker holes for 6 years and it seems to only look better.
This bird on Ambergris Caye I shot this morning is a Golden-Fronted Woodpecker, Meanerpes aurifrons both male and female have red mustaches.

elbert	Yes and No , don't you just hate those kinda answers. Caye Caulker has lots of the woodpeckers and tons of the same birds Ambergris Caye has , but because Ambergris is different topographically on its North end you get to add a few jungle types not normally seen on a typical Barrier Reef Island. _________________________ The Dive Shops Daily Blog http://scubalessonsbelize.blogspot.com/
