Cayo Rosario....Wow

White Ibis on Cayo Rosario and Cayo Pajaros nesting with chicks in the nest and packed with birds using these two little Cayes as a nesting colonies. Amazing !
I don't think the Ban width should suffer all the shots I got yesterday but, Wow what a birdwatching Dream these two little islands are.

Thanks Guys , I had a walk all the way around rosario caye and have a little concern about how important it is and the threat of it being sold. It and Pajaro Caye are obviously very important islands for the Ambergris Bird population , hundreds of nest packed into these two small Islands.
I did a search here and found some information about them Green Reef put up.
some one has a stack of cement bags and lumber on the back side of Rosario, and has built a dock.....?

Great shots. This is going to be one great book. Hope Green Reef, or it might take lots of people, can help with the Caye's.

What I loved about watching the White Ibis in the lagoon was how they fished. The Egrets spear their fish by taking their entire head underwater. On the other hand the Ibis wade along scratching the bottom and when they uncover something simply put that long beak in the water, keeping their eyes above water. Amazing that their legs and beaks are the same length. Isn't Mother Nature amazing?
