I looked at the link - it definitely says it has sharp spines. Shows you how much I like to eat cocoplum (not.) I feel like eating cocoplum is how I imagine it would be if I were to eat cotton wool.
the cocoplums in my yard don't have thorns..and are tasty! Nice to eat on a hot summer day. The kids all come over to pick the. I'm told they make a very nice jam.
I've eaten them on several occasions and Amanda is right. Taste like nothing at all dry slightly bitter cotton.
Wana try something really tastie stick your finger in one of those termite nest we have on the island and let a few of the larva crawl on your finger then put them in your mouth. It took nerve the first time but now I just love the taste. Its like a jolt of super carrot.
