Do you havw the camera set up on a tri-pod? A shutter release cable? What shutter speed to do such stop action shots? I'm very impressed.

as we sat there last night we noticed about a dozen bats dive bombing this chunk of banana. i went in and got a camera and flash.
the flash is on the camera, something i try never to do. the bats could care less about me or the strobe so i got in close and happily snapped away. these were shot at 1/50 @f-3 ,, 105 macro.
their wings are not very fast, but there was a dozen of them buzzin me like mosquito's!
now that i see it will be easier than shooting humming birds, i will put some effort into it.
i am going to set out some banana's, put 2 strobes on stands, get me a chair and some beer, and i should end up with good results.
fun alternative to the hummers!

Great shots Barn! Although I'm not sure that I like seeing close up what is buzzing my my ears at night going for the banana tree bloom!
