I must be doing something wrong with my hummingbird feeder.

we have the orioles who hang on the feeder but have not seen a woodpecker try it yet.

Elbert - Thanks for the compliments but Peter Jones (Pedro 2) took the pictures. I just sat quietly and was the spotter and had the ID book. This is such a peaceful place and Jack keeps the feeders filled. I'll find out what his proportions are.

When I lived up there I documented the first sighting of each new bird; recorded four different Orioles. Yesterday there was one that had more pinkish/redish on his throat and towards the breast. It may be a Tanager???

There are four woodpeckers living there and they will tolerate any other species of bird to share the feeder EXCEPT an other woodpeckter. See - birds are about a nutty as we humans.
