Great Belize Beef

People always say Belize beef is not that good well Sir Andrew Smiling has proven that you can get great Belize Beef. I tried the bone in rib-eye yesterday and I can tell you without a doubt it is worth crossing the bridge for.

12pm onward Sundays at Cowboy Doug's pool bar and grill at Grand Caribe grill master Sir Andrew Smiling [Smiling meats in Belize city] does barbecue for pool party day. In addition to bone in rib-eye they also have baby back ribs, chicken, sausages - comes with slaw, beans and tortilla.

Double Trouble happy hour - Local Beer Rum and house wine are 2 for 1 while the bbq is on.

Don't forget to bring a pool float smile

Belize beef has great flavor - it just tends to be 'chewy' if not tenderized. I treat myself about once a month to steak and eggs at Georges Kitchen south of town. He has a way with it and the potatoes he serves with the eggs are yummy.

I agree Harriet often not tenderized well here. I read Papaya is good for that.

Not sure what seasoning they had on the steak but Leisa, Cowboy Doug's wife used something she brought from Montana and had prepped it the night before. Sir Andrew has the magic touch on the grill.

Andrew does do a great job. I've had both the rib eye and the pork ribs a couple of times and they were always good. I hope they continue this practice next winter when I return. My dog Zeke hopes so also. He usually manages to score a steak bone.

That looks fantastic. Leave it to Doug and Leisa, to figure out a way to provide a tasty cut like that. I'm going to have to check that out, when I fly back in there next time!

Too true Bwana and being Montana folks before they moved here, they definitely know their beef. You planning next time yet?
