I just got off the phone with the folks at Villa La Guacamaya 6-miles north of Xcalak and they made it through the storm OK. They said it was a long night and there was one point when they wished they had left but all in all, they didn't have any real damage. They said during the worst of it the wind was driving the ocean south like a river so they really didn't get a big water surge or suffer significant beach erosion. They didn't lose any windows or solar panels and their wind turbine towers are still standing. She said their cistern is now full but they are only having intermittent rain showers this morning. I was pretty surprised when my phone call went through the first try and the connection was quite clear.
