An update on Hok'ol K'in hotel in Corozal Town, from Carol Conway in the San Francisco Bay area:

Carol and her mother, Marty Conway (Marty was a former Peace Corp volunteer in Belize) built and operated Hok'ol K'in from 1995 to 2005. It was always a friendly and affordable place to stay in Corozal, with a nice, breezy location across the street from the bay. I stayed there several times with my family.

Marty put Hok'ol K'in on the market and moved back to the U.S., but like most hotels for sale in Belize it got few offers. Last year, the Conways sold it to their managers, Lucy Clark and Aaron Navarro. As I understand it, Marty holds the mortgage.

Carol says: Lucy and Aaron "continue to run the hotel with our standards of cleanliness, family atmosphere and good service, and have added a few Belizean touches in the way of decorations. We still visit on a yearly basis, and hope the hotel will be in Lucy and Aaron's capable hands for many years to come."

Best of luck to them, and next time you're in Corozal give Hok'ol K'in a try.
