Dear Marine Megafauna afficionados,

For those with frequent enough access to the sea and encounters with its larger denizens, I ask if you would please log and report any sightings /encounters with key species of marine megafauna (sharks, turtles, rays, large finfish, cetaceans) on the Belize Shark Project web site: http://belizesharks.org/sightings-report/

Your entries will enable us to build up country-wide distributional and seasonal data on these iconic yet slow growing and late maturing species. If you have older catch or sightings data, please don't hesitate to submit these as well. Once we have a minimum of sightings for several species we will map distributions of species and their relative abundance in relation to physical features, population centers and marine protected areas.

We look forward to receiving your entries. Do spread the word to others who may wish to report their sightings.

To megafauna conservation!

Rachel
