My wife and I will be picking up a car in Mex and driving into Belize March 1.

Our plan is (which is our norm for travel)not to make any reservations and just see what we end up with.

We will drive down to southern Belize and make some jungle stops, a night or two, but also take a few days or more and go to San Pedro and Caye Caulker.

My question is, how important is it to make reservations? Is this year quieter because of the western economies being so bad?

I don't want to take the chance of getting to the islands and be out of luck on a hotel. That rarely happens to us in Mexico but I have never been to Belize.

Thanks
