Are there any regulations about bringing back conch shells, or other beach stuff? What about fish to bring back?

I beleive "fish" falls under the USDA guidelines of agricultural & food products and are subject to much scrutiny.
How would you bring them back safely? Put them in your spare suitcase in ziplocks? The thought scares me. I smell disaster....

although i couldn't tell you the exact regs., there are some folks that are part of our annual trip who have taken fish home every year. they just have it frozen and pack it in a cooler for the trip home. to much trouble for me but obviously it can be done. TIMO

How about if they swim back on their own? Just make sure and give 'em a map.

They'd freeze and be tough, AND they'd be tough after that long swim. Wanna, how many conch did you find in Maine this past week?? ZIP, right? They don't belong here. It is all about belonging... like the gd starlings.
