Goin' to AC in August with a big group. Some flying through Charlotte and others through Houston. Can we buy duty free liquer on the way TO Belize City at either of these airports? We know we can get it on the way back, but it's on the way there we're worried about.

I believe that if go online and search Belize Immiration and Customs, you will find a lot of answers to this and other questions you may have. Like we found out that you are allowed only 1 carton of cigarettes to bring into Belize, as well as a list of several other items, which I don't recall at this time.

Most if not all ports that have international flights will have a duty free shop. You may not have enough time if you are connecting in Houston, so check your departing airport.

When I flew through Charlotte to Belice City in the past I couldn't find a duty free. I was surprised by this b/c I thought the same as you immissing, that all international ports have duty free.

Just returned from AC through Charlotte. There is a duty free, however it was on a different concourse than the one we flew out of, if memory is corrent it was on Concourse B and we flew out of Concourse C. It was too late to go all the way to the other side of the airport. If we had got there we could have brought in one litre.

Don't know if it's legit, but I've often known people buy at the Belize duty free on the way IN. Done it myself - I had been told it was permitted and no-one stopped me.

Charlotte has great duty free, but like somebody mentioned you might end up not having the time to get to it, unless you have plenty of time between flights. And besides, Belize has cheap booze, unless you are stuck on some special brand!

Be sure to check prices, also... I've come to find out over the years that "duty free" does not mean "profit free" and many times items in the duty free shops are higher priced than at home.
