Belize City, Wednesday, April 27th, 2005 – Commencing May 4th, 2005, Tikal Jets will be increasing their flights from Guatemala to Belize via Flores from twice a week to three times per week – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Tikal Jets’ DC9 aircraft has a seating capacity of 120 passengers and will offer customers direct service from Guatemala City to Belize with connections to Havana, Cancun, Mexico City and San Pedro Sula. The flights will leave Guatemala 6:30 a.m. and arrive in Belize at 8:30 a.m. On its return, it will leave Belize at 9:30 a.m. to arrive in Guatemala at 11:45 a.m.

“We are enthused by Tikal Jets increase flights to Belize,” comments Tourism Director, Tracy Taegar-Panton. “The recent growth in the airline industry have aided in building greater buoyancy among tourism stakeholders, both locally and internationally. This new flight will mean easier and more accessible travel to and from Belize and Guatemala, as well as supply more options for visitors wishing to vacation in Belize,” Panton noted.

This new service is anticipated to facilitate business and shopping opportunities for citizens of both countries while at the same time making it more comfortable for tourists to enjoy the attractions of Belize and Guatemala.
