I'm sure this has been covered before but we are coming to AC in Sept and staying at Vic House in Sept. Should we book our tours, etc before we get there or is it better to book that once we are on the island? Any suggestions for must-do tours for a first timer to belize for a 26 yr old couple on their honeymoon? Thanks!

You will have your choice of anything once you get here. It is the slowest time of the year.

Your problem will be that for some of the major trips, there will not be enough people for them to go regularly, so check early, and let your hotel or dive shops know what you want when you arrive.

Many of the restaurants are also closed. Many use this time to give their employees vacation.

But for a honeymoon, it should be perfect. Few people, lots of privacy and space.
Have a great time.

Agree what dolphin said, Sept. is probaly slowest time of year.
A must do in my opinion is a trip over to Caye Caulker, only 25 min. boat ride inside the reef.
You couldn't pick a better place for a honeymoon!
Congratulations!!

Thanks for the suggestions. We would like to spend a day on the mainland and there seems like a lot of options with cavetubing, zoo, mayan ruins etc. any suggestions there? Also like to go fishing one day. Probably sounds stupid but what is the difference between flat fishing and reef fishing?

Flats fishing is done in shallow water and you'll be looking for Tarpon, Permit and Bonefish, etc.. Reef fishing is exactly that and you'll be looking for Grouper, Snapper, Barracuda and a host of others.

For mainland trips don't miss the Lamanai trip, the Belize Zoo is a great adventure as well and allows you to see all the critters you'd never see in the jungle.
