7.) Blue Water Grill across from the landing strip on the beach was the BEST Dining spot IMHO! Try the Calamari Appertizer & the Black Bean crusted Snook Entree yummie!!

Can't say I had a bad meal anywhere in AC.
The food and service are generally great!

Picasso is the most overrated and expensive restaurant on AC! And very hot! If they have Air Conditioning they didn't use it the night we were there. Picasso is NOT right on the beach like most of the Restaruants, so the breeze wasn't making to building.

All restaurants are very casual on Ambergris.
They literally mean no shoes no problem.

Lots of people love Casa Picasso and so do we. Not sure it is a toddler kind of place, although I am certain the little ones would be warmly welcomed and catered to. There are plenty of wonderful places to eat, and it sounds like a great idea to have a chef at your place. There is not a lot of beach-based snorkeling...some around piers, but be sure to make sure you are safely away from boating areas. Snorkeling with Alphonse is a lot of fun. Have gone diving with both Amigos and Patojo and loved them both.

Crash for a night in Caye Caulker and come to Habaneros, which was recently named the "Best Restaurant in Belize" by Lonely Planet. Reserve a night a Seaside Cabanans (www.seasidecabanas.com), you won't be disappointed. The snorkel/dive trips are generally less expensive leaving from Caye Caulker.

Simon, can you tell me how to go about ordering food to be prestocked at our room? Does it cost extra?

We're a shopping service and do all the running around town for you so there are charges for the service. Full details can be found at www.lagniappe-belize.com, if you have any questions you can reach us at [email protected]. We provision all rental units on the island that have a kitchen and do custom provisioning for charter boats as well.
