I read somewhere that Oct 12 is a holiday in Belize... I'm there from Oct 10 and was wondering what to expect. I saw something that said celebrations were planned in Belize City, etc... but didn't say anything about AC. Is it going to be very festive, or very quiet because everything's closed?

Columbus Day. It's also a holiday (second Monday in October) in the U.S. No big deal either place.
