U.S. Ambassador presents Credentials

08 September, 2005 - Belmopan
Newly-appointed U.S. Ambassador to Belize, H.E. Mr. Robert Johann
Dieter, today presented his credentials to the Governor-General of
Belize, H.E. Sir Colville Young.

In brief ceremonies at Belize House in Belmopan, the U.S. Ambassador
told the Governor-General: "I am honoured today to present my
credentials, and to represent the President and people of the United
States of America to the nation of Belize. ..It gave me great joy when
President Bush appointed me to Belize, and I carry his message of peace
and appreciation of good friends."

The Governor-General thanked the U.S. Ambassador for his kind words and
asked him to relay to President Bush the sincere sympathy of the nation
of Belize for the victims of devastating Hurricane Katrina.

H.E. Robert Johann Dieter is Director of Clinical Programmes and
Clinical Professor of Law, University of Colorado School of Law in
Boulder Colorado.

1. Jevon Mahler.
2. New Orleans.
3. New US Ambassador to Belize.

Let's hope #3 turns out better than #1 & #2.

Diane, Looked into the Jevon situation briefly, and as usual, theres a story behind the story. Problems with the paperwork they submitted. Lets hope this poltical appt won't be as damaging as the FEMA appt was. Belize has gotten along quite well without a US Amb in country (April). This guy slept with George to get the job. .

Thanks Katy - your concern and energy are truly reassuring and valueable.
Many things in the US work nicely, but the increasing "paperwork" process is a killer (literally). We moved to Belize to get back to people-to-people stuff.
You are people and you are super!

Diane, I could not agree with you more on the influx of paperwork to get things done here in the USA, its like the more we complicate things with paperwork, and big Gov., the more it cost, and time wasted.
I moved out of Pasadena, Ca. about 12 years ago, to live in Florida, and at that time, it was a new frontier, now Florida is a nother California.
I have bought property up in Haberneros, and plan to build, and also move full time there in next few years. The Real New Frontier.
