Conch season is closed from 07/01 to 09/30.

Lobster season is closed from 02/15 to 06/15.

What is Conch - a fish obviously! In Nov. will their be fresh scallops, mussels, etc. to buy? Do you buy the fish at the wharf or fish shop?

59 days and counting! Do we have counters on this site?

Conch definitely not a fish - lives in a shell! It's actually a marine snail, but big! Conch meat has a mild, sweet clam-like flavor, but is extremely tough and must be pounded, or marinated in lime juice to tenderize it before cooking. Some of the most common uses are for conch fritters, conch chowder, conch steaks and marinated raw conch salad. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Check out the docks on the lagoon side when the fisherman come back in for fresh as fresh can be.

Similar to an Abalone - the pound routine - abalone season is upon us here - yum! Sauteed in lemon juice and white wine with fresh chives. I specialize in my herb garden. Hopefully there will be some left in Nov. for us. Shells are beautiful. wink
