tweedybear	A question that's not covered in our Belize travel books is how much can we bring in. Two Bottles of our favorite Vino since we're celebrating our 30th. Then we'd like to bring some Tequilla & Controy from Mexico. Is that allowed? I can't find it anywhere. _________________________ Fish never hold their breath - Cheers to the Fish!

Amanda Syme	You can buy all of those beverages here. Why not support the local economy. The Wine de Vine store in town have a huge selection of wines from all over the world - and well priced. You can buy the Mexican liquor at most large grocery stores here. I can't remember how much booze you can import duty free, but it is the same as the US. Maybe 2 quarts per family???

playabees	I bring wine in every time, mostly to share with friends who live on the island. I generally pack no more than 6 bottles (big bubble wrap, dish towels, oversize ziploc bag) and have never had a problem. Wine De Vine does have a great selection but know that you'll pay quite a bit more for them due to taxes and the cost of importing. Last I looked, there weren't any California wines and I'm a big Zin drinker Good luck and pack carefully!

GBZ39	Wine is expensive in Belize. A $15 box of Almaden in CT was $50 last February. Plan accordingly. Beer is great!

Anonymous	If you're a serious wine drinker, bring your own. Prices are almost double what you'll pay in the states and selection of decent wine is limited. That said, Belikin is part of the Belize experience and the rum punch is excellent!
