How much for a gallon of gas in Belize?

On the island it's about $5.25US, it's cheapest in the city.

The price you quote may be for gas mixed with oil for your outboard?

Diane, you're right, the price used to be $9.52BZ and I got the increased price wrong. I run a 4-stroke so it was just a screw up on my part.

Same old honda 4-stroke, same old boat. Got them both directly after Keith. The engine has been submerged in salt water three times, has a chunk out of the lower end and runs just great. Given the price of gas, I'm happy to have an engine that "only" uses a gallon every 7 or 8 miles.

That's not very encouraging. Living north of the cut, say at Captain Morgan's, you'd pay as much for gas round trip on the boat, as you'd pay for water taxi, right? Does it take long to learn how to 'pilot' a boat?

True, when I run a boat loaded with groceries up to the Sundiver area and back it costs me about $20 in fuel.

As far as "piloting" goes it depends on where you want to go.
