A first timer...
We will be staying in the North area...about 4.5 miles from San Pedro town. Are water taxi's available late in the evening? (If we're in town for dinner and a little bit of nightlife)

What time do they stop running at night?

We will be there over New Years. Will they be running after midnight?
Thanks!

Water Taxis always depend on the weather. Ask around - if the weather is bad/stormy/rainy I have heard of people taking shelter in San Pedro instead of being able to get back North.
Also New Year's is a huge festival for the San Pedranos as well as the tourists. I have seen the partying last 24 hours over night and into the following morning.
I suggest you plan your return trip with a responsible captain/boat before you go out celebrating. Perhaps you could arrange this through the place you are staying up North.
Christmas - New Year's is a large festive week for everyone on Ambergris Caye. Plans can change for any reason at any time! It is Island Time there! Belize it!

Your hotel or property manager will probaby assist with arrangements, but if you are the more self-sufficient type ...........
There are two private water-taxi men who are clean and sober 24-7.
Armando Gonzalez and David Rancheron.
I would (and do) trust my life to either of them when it comes to sensible boat handling and thorough knowledge of local waters.
They drive their own boats (read between the lines on the importance of that item).
Both carry cel-phones.
Armando - 610-1448
David - 610-4890
Private on-call night-time holiday service will likely be more available with Armando, as during tourist season David tends to work mostly for Capricorn. Armando also has a land-taxi.
Bring a couple of small flashlights with you, and carry them when you go out at night - you will be very glad you did.

Junior is also extremely reliable and trustworthy and is often more readily available at later times of night than the above mentioned, his cell is 610 3550

We're looking for suggestions on where to stay and what to do.
We're booked for 7 days on AC ending 12-6, but from 12-6 to 12-12, we do not know what "ELSE" to do to round-out our two weeks in Belize, which will be our first trip to Belize.
Any suggestions?

I am assuming when your time is up on AC you'll be ready to leave the island? If so, check on some of the resorts over on the mainland and then you can tour some Mayan ruins, etc. eek
