We are planning to visit Nov 12-19 and thought we might bring school supplies to the local public school. Has anyone ever done this and if so do we contact someone ahead of time to make the arrangement or just show up at the school. Any ideas what they need or would like? Thanks,
Barb

All sorts of things will be suggested. In addition, if you have an old but working laptop that will be invaluable to them.

I am not able to PM you for some reason. Please let me know the list and contact person on Ambergris Caye. I will be with a small group and we will all bring things. Maybe even a laptop.

Bab - you need to reset your profile to allow PM's....then it will work. If you don't allow, you cannot send. Makes sense, huh. wink

I heard from a number of locals in SP - to give the supplies DIRECTLY to the kids. Apparently it is very common for the administrators to keep it for their own families, etc. I learned this from a police officer in SP after we donated a whole suitcase of supplies last year.

Even if it isnt true - I would still pass these on directly to the kids.
