Spent nearly 7 weeks at Katrina helping the locals. Skipped Rita and came home to my spousal unit. Wilma is another story and it appears that Thanksgiving will be spent in that particular neighborhod as well. Tomorrow I leave for Largo.
The point of all this is that I have not had any time to find out how BZ and AC weathered the storms. Capt Bicho, how the heck are you? How about my other folks? I can say this. The damages were MUCH worse than you can imagine. I have been in the disaster recovery business for over 18 years, across the globe. This was probably the worst "First World" event that I have ever seen. In short, it was the USA's tsunami. Gulfport and Biloxi were bad enough, but Pass Christian, Kiln, and the surrounding areas are simply gone.
For those that like New Orleans the new is mixed. VERY little wind damage. The levy breaches however did exactly what we have predicted for 30 years. I will not recount the horrors that I saw, but I did have early access to the city and in retrospect I'd have not.
So God bless the ones who passed and bless the ones who stayed and who will return.
For my Belizian friends, I'll be back and likely soon. I'm tired and several older than I was a few months ago.
Captain Jeff, how about a fishing report to cheer up a jaded and exhausted old man?
Capt Bicho, is all well with you and yours?
God Bless,
Nuclear Jim & Mrs NJ.
