How's the beach at the Banana Beach Resort? Is there a lot of sea grass?
Thanks!

The beach is a very nice size but at times there is a lot of sea grass.

and if grass is present, then likely there is grass most everywhere.

Comes down to what you mean by sea grass. Some mean live sea grass in the water others mean dead sea grass on the beach. Everywhere has some sea grass in the water but it's unlikely that you would find dead sea grass on Banana Beach property unless they were just about to rake it up. Almost all of the resorts make a concerted effort to rake the beaches every morning so they're nice and clean for their guests.

I agree, but if you have no idea what it is......

I found swimming at BB quite acceptable. The loose sea grass was raked daily, early in the morning. OK so the beach is narrow. But right aside the sea wall is a very pleasant (clear of grass)area. What little bit of sea grass I encountered was NOT like slimy-winding-around-your-legs seaweed. It is flexible, thin individual blades which brush against you. I did see people on the sandbar in front of the pier, although I didn't go out to it. However, there weren't any sea creatures to see in snorkeling right in front of BB, but it was nice for a dip.

Sea grass (live) can contain tiny nemocyte stinging cells a bit like pica-pica. And also the odd eel, which may not like you tramping through its home. I have to say I'm quite wary of it. And raked sea grass, if not cleared promptly, may contain hidden menaces deposited by dogs.

Didn't BB actually gain some beach because of Wilma? I know several other places in that area did.

Actually, they do have a bit of non-seawall beach, north side.
