Lacy,
Paisano told the story to Joe and I at the then Island Cuisine (outside table) by Paisano's house.

Paisano came down the street yelling "HI HOUSE", to his house, several times. Which made us laugh.

We waved to him, and he came over to the table and handed me a beautiful shell, and said for the pretty lady. No money.

Joe invited Paisano to sit with us, offered to buy him a beer and food, he said No, just a Coke.
He was very much at ease talking with Joe.

It was very quiet that afternoon, Paisano sat and told us about his life. As you know one had to listen carefully to understand what he was saying.

He told us several accounts of his life, that have not been posted on the board. Told nothing of his hardship on Ambergris, That day he was telling of his life before he left his homeland.
His father's death haunted him.

Lawerence of Arabia was one, he detailed how we would recognize him in the movie. At home we rented the movie and sure enough as he detailed the scenes, there the scenes were a few minutes into part two VHS video. As a young man/boy.

Whether that is Paisano or not, he sure had his mind together that day, and remembered the movie scenes. Rent it and you be the judge.

God rest his soul.

Just found out the news.
I am sad, this guy was a huge icon on the island. He was one of the reasons I wanted to come back to the island...time after time.
May He Rest In Peace.

Beautiful, Chloe, just like Piasano was, his shells were shiner than all the rest, IMHO

I did not have the honor to meet Paisano but had heard about him.

I just took the time to read this entire thread and it was really great to see everyone's story.

Thank you all for sharing.

And to Paisano may you be at peace always. You have touched so many people for the better.
