I wanted to thank everyone for all the good info. We have booked our airfare and lodging for June, and now the countdown begins!!! Our daughter is getting married on Ambergris Caye because she wants to avoid all the usual wedding trauma (who doesn't like who, and so-and-so has hurt feelings because they're not in the wedding party). She just wanted a very simple ceremony and everyone to relax, party and have a good time. She and her fiance fell in love in Belize. Well, everyone who is going is lots of fun; and she has informed others who are thinking of going that we will not tolerate "whiners". It's not the US, and you just go with the flow and enjoy the beautiful island and people you meet. Hope to meet some of you from the board while we are there. If anyone has any suggestions or information you think would be helpful, it will all be greatly appreciated.

where are you staying and where is the wedding? It sounds like you do not need too many suggestions as you all have such the right attitude for a wedding and any time in Belize. Congradulations, enjoy.

The groom's family is staying at the Tortuga House where the wedding will take place, and the bride's family and friends will stay at Banana Beach. The wedding is June 6.

Rent a golf cart, decorate it, and give the bride and groom a ride thru town, they look so cool sitting on the back seat, facing backwards, with big smiles and waves, from everyone on the streets.

Great suggestion -- if we can just keep them sober long enough!

I still want to see a sand (castle) wedding cake on the beach, about 4 feet high, decorated with native fresh flowers, all for fun not for eating....unless one drinks too much.
