My two best friends and I are all in our early 20's and are going to San Pedro for 2 months (May & June 2006) and were just wondering a few things:
1) How is the nightlife there? We love to go to clubs and dance, drink and have a great time until early the next morning.
2) Our condo is 20 minutes away from town, how long will it acutally take us to walk to the main part of town? and is it safe for us to walk say after the bars?
3) Has anyone stayed at or know anything about the 1 bedroom apartment at the Coral Reef Villas just outside of town? I am trying to get some reviews on it.
4) Any other fun things for us ladies to do while we are there would be appreciated.
5) Where else on the island do you recommend on the island to mingle with other locals?

That's 4 hours drive on today's roads.

Town isn't really big enough to have a main part. Add a couple of minutes to get to the middle.

How long it takes really depends on how many stops you make along the way.

And you could stretch it to 6 hours if you want, I mean, why hurry?

During the day that is...for night, it's better to take a taxi for safety. Be cautious as you would anywhere.

yes, sometimes 6 hours, not 4. taxi at night forsure unless you are with friends on a golf cart. But gas can get expensive with a 4-6 hr ride out of town.

OK guys i get it...its a small town haha stop giveing me a hard time! haha

if riding on the taxi/golf car its going to be about 10$ usd per hour plus the toll booth fee wich i beleive runs about $20usd. if going out of town you may want to fill up those tanks because theres no other gas stations outside of town.

lol. It's 10 BZ for a cab ride to where you are going from town at night.

I've found that it can take a long, long time to walk back from the pubs because I tend to drop into other pubs along the way. No matter, though, the sunrises off Ambergris Caye are beautiful. If you happen to stay out too late, just stay out even later and enjoy the sunrise.
