Please keep the heavy satire and the super silly stuff in the chat area.

I am getting a lot of these types of comments lately:

What's happening to the message board? Mainly
negative and beyond stupid bs when ever someone asks a relevant
question + self promoting advertising and rude and obnoxoius nonsense from a
bunch of folks who seem to have way too much time to waste. Also (what it
seems like to me as a "reader") one big huge advertising board for certain places I might be wrong, just the impression
I have from reading so many contributions from people who do
not know what the heck they're talking about.
Sorry, don't mean to be negative, but maybe the message board should take a
two weeks vacation?

O - and more and more people I talk to don't go to the boards anymore now that so much drivel is going on that clearly belongs on the chat section.

i get tired of defending the board. lots of folks use it and love it, but please help me help others by eliminating some of the stuff in this area that can go into the chat.

i get a lot of complains about this board. bitch bitch bitch about what it isn't, but few take steps to make it better.

from the first day of this website ten years ago i have been fielding complaints about this board. and i suppose it will never stop. but it helps many people, and it cannot ever be perfect, or just what any one person wants it to be.

the more people that contribute evens out any bias, and makes it better. just emailing me or chatting with neighbors about what the board ISN"T and DOESN"T DO really helps nothing. if one contributes to the board, thats the way to change it.

actions beat words 99% of the time.

this board does more to help get people to ambergris caye than anything on this planet. it may not be perfect, but its a heck of a tool. if folks choose not to participate, it is to their own detriment.

Would it be very difficult to create more categories such as Dining, Snorkling, Diving, Accomodations, Getting to AC, etc. I've been reading this board for maybe 6 years but if I were new to it I would be scared away by some of the comments to new users questions. I visit alot of sites and this one is one of the rudest. There is alot of good info. With more specific categories, users with specific questions might avoid most of the BS.
I think this would also benefit businesses. There are alot of people looking for new places to go for vacation and they're heading this way.

As I have told you before this is one of the BEST web sites and boards for a travel destination like AC that I have ever seen. Don't change it.

Yeah there is a lot of BS and some smartass people like me, but when someone wants to know something about vacationing in AC, almost eveyone trys to assist them. The rest is just entertainment.

I kinda/sorta agree Marty... but I'll bet for every 1 complaint there are 10 compliments that you never hear from. Despite the joking, etc. there is a LOT of valuable information on this board... IF people would simply look... instead they post the question hoping someone will answer them and they won't have to spend time looking.

By looking you not only find the answer to your question, you also find other information you never thought about before. I do agree that the goofyness, etc should be kept in the other section and leave this one for real info, etc.
