We are lloking to come to Ambergris Cay February 2007 for about 10 days. There will be a family of 6 adults and 3 children (6, 8, 8). We are looking for a quiet, but not isolated house on the beach that will not break the bank. Swimming (snorkeling) should be good for the children. Full kitchen and amenities (adequate number of bathrooms) is necessary. I don't know where to begin; is north side of island too hard to access San Pedro for fun, groceries, etc? Are golf carts, bikes the way to move around. Are there places south I should consider. All help. direction greatly appreciated.

Try Palm House through Caye Management - www.cayemanagement.com south of town just past Victoria House.

Victoria House also has a couple of villas that may suit.

You can try Casa Caracol (www.casacaracol.com). I was with a party of 5 that stayed in the 1st floor unit last Thanksgiving...very nice and Phil was a great host.

Let Simon do your grocery shopping for you. It is so worth it.

My group rented Casa Tortuga. May be pricier than you want but the resident cook makes so worthwhile. Kathy
