to add your pin, click the map and fill out the short form. soon i can edit that form so some fields may go away if we decide they aren't needed. works best to zoom in real close before you add your pin so you can get real exact

the slider bar at the upper left of the map will zoom you in and out. the arrows will move you left right and up and down.

the zoom will go way way down close. the map is centered on ambergris caye, so sliding the bar up will zoom you way in close onto the island. tho the last couple settings at the top (super super duper close) do not work, so if you set the zoom clear to the top, back up just a bit and up pops the island.

it's tied into google maps, so the detail is pretty neato.

in the upper right corner there are three square buttons. they change the view of the earth from a map with countries (MAP button), a view of the earth without boundaries and showing geographical forms (SATELLITE button), and a combination of both (HYBRID button).

the ads at the bottom will go away soon (i did the pay version so there aren't ads but its going to take a couple days for them to change me over from the free version i guess), and the message board link is bogus and will go away too...

there were 48 markers on the new one i put up, i am sorry but i am switching to the older one that has been up awhile that i wasn't aware of, so you may have to put your self down again if you aren't on the old one (which is the one we are going to use).

Marty, the maps were very cool, even if my navagation was poor..I found my way..

Will we be able to change our locations? As in 63 days I will not be living in London but will be living on Ambergris Caye.

navigation is a bit odd. one gets used to it. google earth is so rad....

collyk, you simply log on to the map and click on 'edit this entry' and then 'basic profile'. To edit the location field just start typing San Pedro, some choices will drop down and you can pick the one you want...Belize of course

btw, I am trying to control my insane jealousy of your impending move. No success so far

spots101x, the code they are looking for is in the grid right next to the text box. The one I'm looking at right now is 17C67 but it is totally random. If you need more help either post here or click on contact admin in the top tool bar.

Darn! Why can't I see this map?

Hi, I see there's not been a post to this for awhile. For those of you who couldn't figure it out try again. I had troubles too. You have to remember to click "add yourself" on the left side first, then it gives you the buttons to push. It's pretty darn cool!

I'm new to the board and have never been to Belize - yet! My husband and I are planning our first trip there in late October and early November. We want to take a boat to Ambergris Caye from Xcalak - staying over 3 nights in San Pedro. Does anyone have any details on just how we'll accomplish this? Look forward to reading and learning more about Belize here.

basically, they create 3d models of your companies. In the future, people will be able to "virtually" walk into one of your stores and buy something.

They came and spoke at our board meeting last month. Smart kids. Still a relatively new concept. Over 200million people have already downloaded google earth. Why not make SP 3D?

We are just now getting it done in Austin. Note: if you type in Austin, Texas BrightGIS actually did the 3d Frost bank tower.

Click on Join In the top left hand corner of the map. A little window will open up for you to enter your name and location.

If that doesn't do it for you, click on Hon in the text box to the right of the map. It will send me a message directly and we'll work it out by email.

I'm writing from PA--just drove back here from Oregon--, but Sarah is in Belize. She's with a family that knows the country and has taken precautions about Dean (they left their island for Belize City, then for a resort in the rain forest), but we haven't heard from her since Dean hit.

Do you have any info about phone lines (like whether they're down), or info about any infrastructure/road problems that might get in the way of her contacting us? Any info/tips you have about how things are going would help.
