I think Xanadu looks like a very nice resort, and it is within my budget for my wedding. I am wondering if anyone has stayed here before. My only concern is that there is no restaurant or bar on site. My guests will probably want to drink a bit, so I'm wondering how close other bars or restaurants are. Any input would greatly be appreciated! Thanks!

Have not stayed there, but walked by several times. Very nice! There are bars and restaurants within 5 minutes, tops. Also, check out Laignaippe--Simon will deliver and stock anything and everything you might need. Kris

I have stayed there twice and will again later this fall. I believe it's a little over a mile into town - quite enjoyable walking up the beach. There are also restaurants close by as well.

When I was there last August, there was a wedding happening right at the hotel. Su, the manager, arranged for food/drink by the pool and the ceramony was done right at the water's edge. Very cool.

They offer great suites with full kitchens, so you can stock up on stuff (use SimonB's Lagniappe provisioning to stock it before you arrive laugh ). They offer free Kayaks and Bicycles.

I think you will be pleased.

There are a couple of good beach bars that are within "stumble down the beach" distance. Coconuts and Crazy Canucks!!! I'm sure they will be more than happy to take their money. smile You can go a little further to BC or down the other way to the indoor bar at Banana Beach or the Squirels Nest beach bar next door at Mata Rocks. Its about 1/3 mile south to the last two and the first two are within a 5 minute stumble.
