You guys are awesome, thanks! With these couple of product names, I can track 'em down - if not, next year I'll stock up while there and mail it home to myself.

and Kra-Z-K What does the blue one smell like??? (By the way, the folks we hooked up with and partied with in SP agreed with me - the town of SP smells like... exotic fabric softener with undertones of lime. However, 4 Belikin by lunch may do that to you...)

This board never ceases to amaze me. All these momentous things going on, dogs getting killed, resort managers getting humiliated, resorts jyustly getting trashed, and what do the great and good find to talk about - toilet cleaners! It makes me think that there is hope for humanity after all!

Hey Novascotianuts... where in the province are you from? I'm from there originally (born in Halifax, grew up outside Windsor) but live in Toronto now. Came to AC last year and am already counting down the days until my next trip in October! I'm not sure what this cleaning stuff is that everyone's so crazy about, but I'm gonna put it on my list of things to look for. Haha

I also like the smell of the cleaner at Banana Beach, not sure if it's the same as Ramon's, I found it here in Canada at No Frills, it is Ajax Fabuloso, it is made in Portugal, I bought the lavender but it comes in other scents, now by clean house smells like San Pedro.

You're kidding? I've never seen them and was told by locals that they don't grow there, only Limes. Is someone putting one over on me?

Kra-Z-K,
Could you please let us know where on island you find lemons? I've tried the Greenhouse where you can usually find so many different fresh fruits and veggies with no luck. I found a lemon mashed potato recipe that I want to make to accompany Garlic Buttered Red Snapper and limes just won't cut it. I'll save the limes to make Key Lime Cheesecake for dessert!

MASHED POTATOES WITH LEMON AND CHIVES 6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) butter 2 garlic cloves, minced 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel 1/2 cup chopped fresh chives 2 pounds russet potatoes, cut into 1-inch pieces 1/4 cup buttermilk
Melt 3 tablespoons butter in heavy small skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute. Mix in lemon peel, then chives. Set aside. Cook potatoes in large pot of boiling salted water until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain. Return potatoes to pot and mash. Add chive mixture, buttermilk and remaining 3 tablespoons butter and mash together. Season with salt and pepper.
Serves 4. Bon Appétit The Cook's Exchange December 1998
I haven't personally tried it yet but the reviews on epicurious.com are very good. 100 percent of reviewers said that they'd make it again.
