Does any one know how much the average amount of fresh water used each day by one person on AC is ? I am building a house on the north side of the island and I am trying to calculate how big my cistern needs to be......thanks !

So what you are saying is anywhere on AC is the north side of the island or indeed anywhere on AC is the south side of the island _I am confused -now what happens to the east and west sides-this is way to difficult to comprehend-back to the Jagermeister machine

Just a guess. Average shower 10 gal. Average dish washing 3 gal. Average toilet 25 gal. So roughly 40 gal. Just my guess. Per person

The bigger cistern the better. You want to catch and hold as much as possible to tide you over the unexpected dry seasons. You can't have too much water.

I agree, but at about $1 US per gallon for a concrete block cistern I would like to get close to the correct size........thanks for the replys

Build a "basement" the size of the house and use it as a cistern, Make it as deep as you can afford- 5 or 6 feet hopefully.
