My wife and I are staying at banana beach the end of september. It will be our 20th anniversery, any and all information would be appreciated. We will snorkle a few times, my wife wants to go to the 1000 foot falls, may tubing at jaguar reef or in the rainforrest. What is the best way to get to town from hotel, and any suggestions on a restaurant for the night of our anniversery. Thanks for your help.

You'll love it there! Tim & crew are certain to make your time special & effortless on your part.

Getting to town - easy: 1) Leisurely walk up the beach, right foot in the water, stopping along the way to quench that thirst! 2) Rent a cart & explore 3)Cab - cheap!

Lots of fine dining oppty's. Check out Capt Jeff's almost monthly fishing/restaurant escapades on the threads here. The man knows of what he speaks!

Snorkeling with Alphonso Graniel is fabulous! The tour office at BB (called Monkey Business) can easily set you up with him.

Cave tubing was alot of fun. A hike through the jungle on a well cleared path, then a welcome dip into the lovely clear river. The caves are quiet and cool.

Get ready, you are gonna love this place and its people!

BB is my fav - you'll love it.
Casa Picasso has the best and most unique food on the island, in my opinion. Dinner there is unforgettable. For a more formal atmosphere and exceptional food, Victoria House is also very, very good and a lovely setting.

I second Casa Picasso. We also had a very good lunch a while back at Rojo Lounge. Expensive though.

We'll be on the island for a week starting the 20th of September. Perhaps our paths will cross, we recently bought a condo at Coral Bay. You'll see the place if you walk to town.

The Lamanai trip is wonderful -- especially with Daniel of Tanesha. A sailing day trip on SEAduced to Caye Caulker is another good one.

We went to see the 1000 ft. waterfalls two years ago. I don't suggest it. It's really hard to get to them and when you do get to your destination you are at least 1/4 mile away. We were told that Five Sisters Waterfalls are by fall more beautiful, but I can't say that I saw them. http://www.fivesisterslodge.com/tours_activities.html

I would suggest Capricorn for a romantic dinner. Beautiful area, pleasant boat ride to Capricorn and very good food.
Or Rendezvous. The food and wine are excellent. Also a short boat ride.
Another fun thing to do is take the water taxi to Caye Caulker and spend an afternoon. Walk around town, walk down to the split, have a drink at the Lazy Lizard and enjoy the amazing view. smile smile

Capricorn is closed for the month of September. Also other restuarants are closed sometime during the next month. Best thing is to call when you get here.
