We are putting together our grocery list for our upcoming Dec trip (16 people). Right now we are planning on ordering groceries from Lagniappe and the beer is SO expensive! Belikin is $37/case and I thought beer is Chicago was expensive!! smile Any other place we can get cases of beer that aren't as expensive?

Lagniappe is very good. Simon knows his shopping. $37 for 24 beer is only $1.55 each. And that's delivered to your room. And it's better beer than.....

lol, you are very kind and I appreciatae that. Definately not a morning person, especially Sundays. Usually get up at 9-9:30am. We always pass by mid day on Sundays. Right now? What is the deliver fee in this rain, I would not expect that! I will PM to tell you where I am "right now." wink

Go directly to the Distributor & you'll get it a lot cheaper than that, then exchange your cases when the beer wagon comes by.

NYEB,
Whatever you decide about your beverages, consider this:

Lagniappe is an excellent service. We had the freshest produce from SimonB. After our lettuce ran out, we couldn't find any near as nice as what Lagniappe had brought us. We'll use his service again, and order MORE next time.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I try and keep my beer, wine and liquor prices the same as you would find in the supermarket (actually a lot lower than one particular store.) You can get it cheaper from the distributor but you also have to get there and haul it around which is what we're here for.

Thanks for the feedback. We are definitely buying all of our groceries from Lagniappe...no worries, we have heard great things and plan on giving them TONS of business while we are there for the week smile C'mon, 9 of the 16 of us are guys and they eat like there's no tomorrow! I guess we were just a little shocked by the price of the beer...and considering we will be drinking WAY TOO MUCH of it that week we were just looking to see if it was any less expensive elsewhere. Thanks again...see you in December!

San Pedro Distributors uses a fleet of wagons drawn by John Deere tractors to deliver beer and sodas. That'll give you some idea of the road conditions.

I saw those tractors but I thought they only dealt with the business owners. Unless this was just a joke on me, you're telling me I can buy directly from them? Man this board has some really great information on it!

Depends on what is onboard. Sometimes they have extra available; other times only enough to fill their orders.

NYEBelize, you cannot go wrong with Lagniappe. Your supplies will be waiting @ your hotel for you and it will save you the hassle.

I'm looking forward to a case of cold beer waiting for me and my travel buddy in just a few weeks laugh

LOL. Yeah, KLC - the butter will be right next to a lobster dinner (just think of that vision while you are eating your turkey).

Staying at the Blue tang I've bought many a case off the Beer Wagon, Wet Willies is right in front of the B.T. & I'm always there in Feb. when Jerry Jeff is playing at Wet Willies, Those Texans must drink a whole lotta beer cause they stop there about every day. You can buy it for the same price they do & that's a fact!
P.S. Blue Tang always stocks the frig with a cold case to start for me as most good resorts will if asked, then 2 days later it's off to the beer wagon, Blue Tang charged me $30us. last year & it was worth it to walk into my room & grab a cold one.
Yes I've had a few to nite & I'm feeling Goooood!
P.S. GOD BLESS Texas & I"m a Buckeye fan & we're gona beat the hell outa that school up north!! laugh laugh

One of my pet peeves about buying beer from the distributor is that I who spends 100k plus every year gets exactly the same price as a tourist who buys one case.
I hate to say it but you have got to be bonkers not to buy from the distributor -they will also deliver as long as you are staying south of the bridge-work it out if you buy 20 cases from Lagniappe -you could buy 40 for the same price-a no brainer

Ok - I have to say this as it is a bit overdue. I always thought pizza in San Pedro was a waste, I mean you can get pizza anywhere, right?

THE PIZZA AT PEDRO'S IS GREAT!!

(There, Peter, I said it! wink ) Also, I'm not a jagermiester fan at all, but there's just something about that machine he has . . .

Pedro's Inn is a must stop by -

Enjoy! smile

Peter, I agree completely on the pricing, it's a bit unfair that there isn't a wholesale price for volume buyers even if only by a few dollars.

You're also right about the south end unless you like your beer in the fridge, cold and don't want to clean off all the dust. wink

BTW, I'd love to see a 20 case order case order would show my appreciation accordingly.

This is why I come to this board every day...you all are so much fun! We are soooo pumped for our first trip to Ambergris Caye in December!
Simon - in all honesty, we may just be looking at 20 cases of Belikin! We will be there from Wed, Dec 27 through Wed, Jan 3...18 people total and we LOVE our beer!
Our group is meeting Dec 16 for a pre-trip planning party and we'll be putting together our grocery list for Lagniappe. I can let you know then how many cases of beer we'll predict we need smile BTW - from Wed-Sat we are staying at The Tides and then Sat-Wed at the Blue Dolphin Beach House.
Thanks again!

Compensated testimonials can be so cheesy, pepperoniy, and mushroomy.
