Can anyone give me a report as to how this resort is? Coming down for a honeymoon and want to make sure the resort is nice.

Thanks for your help!!

I've stayed there 3 times, the last 2+ years ago. I liked it. The water taxi transportation can be a nuisance, but I made friends with people with boats. We weren't hounded by time
share pushers, either. For a honeymooning couple I think it would be great. Lots of privacy if you want it. Biked into town, walked in some days. (hopefully you won't be going soon, lots of rain & the roads are a mess) When I was last there, a small mall was just north of CM's where we bought some expensive groceries, but stuff is more expensive anywhere on the island.

when in doubt...do without

Despite some of the reports I have read I have never had a bad time at Captain Morgans. It's a great place for a honeymoon. Quiet and just out of the way enough. The water taxis, well, if you really need to be somewhere on time you are taking life too seriously smile On the Landshark front, Just say No (if you want to). I can't say they bother me but when I am in Belize hardly anything bothers me.

As I have said before, all the reviews you read have to be averaged out in general. A place generally gets 1 out of 5 or 5 out of 5. People only bother to review if they are really really happy or really really annoyed. This explains the 'Best place in the world' and 'A dump - don't ever go there' kind of headlines about the same resort.

I really hope they have improved the shop this year, that was the only minor (underline minor) niggle.

All I know about Capt. Morgan's is the hasslers in town pestering people to come have a look at the place.

Apparently the management doesn't realize that this tactic probably turns off 50+ people for every one visitor to their establishment.

Has anyone eaten at their buffet? Saw it mentioned in last weeks paper and it looked good.

they have a bbq on tue and thur, they are completely different and wonderful. The Tuesday buffet is reaaaaaaaaaly good. I love their pineapple pork chops and that is forsure something not on my typical list for something I would order. They are amazing!!!! I wonder if they are on their regular menu, I'd love to order them and have them sent on the Island Ferry.

really? Funny, glad I commented on it. I think I am going to call them Tue and ask if I can get an order of them to go...I mean they are cooking them all night for the buffet.
