Looking for recommendations of places to stay in Placencia.

In my opinion, the top places are

Inn at Robert's Grove -- lovely small resort, with A/C, pool, tennis, good restaurant

Rum Point Inn -- one of the original resorts north of the village, with free-form cabanas and new A/C apartments, new pool, nice beach

Kitty's -- classic barefoot place, one of the best beaches, good restaurant and bar, beachfront cabanas don't have a/c but are wonderful anyway

There are many other good places in all price categories. Nautical Inn, Serenity, Green Parrot Cottages among others are good spots north of Placencia village. In the village are mostly budget/moderate places. Some of the best are Tradewinds, Harry's Cozy Cabanas, Ranguana and Seaspray.

There are also some rental cottages. Kitty's rents some, and Barnacle Bill's up at Maya Beach are new and nice.

BobL, I have some personal experience with two places, SoulShine and The Inn at Robert's Grove. Since my momma raised me right, let me comment on the Inn. Great place, great service, great food, great people. It's a ways out of Placencia (more than just down the road) but I'll bet they could shuttle you in. PS. We were brand new when we went so we didn't know, but there isn't much that goes on in town during the heat of the day. Wish I was going back.

We stayed at the Nautical Inn. The rooms are great but getting food at odd hours was a bit of a problem. If you don't eat when they cook, you go hungry. Bow, Bow, Bow,.LOL
