Greetings, The Peace Corps has assigned my daughter to the Northeast Belize village of Sarteneja, located on the sea on the Shipstern Peninsula. Interested in any info on Sarteneja. I am also a fly angler and would like to couple a visit with some encounters with bonefish, tarpon, or permit. How is the fishing in the sarteneja area? Also can anyone suggest a place to stay in the area? Thank you for any help. Brian

The Sarteneja village area is fairly remote (though becoming less so, with regular bus service from Orange Walk town), but a pleasant place with a beautiful location on the water.

Fishing around there is good to fantastic. A lot of villagers making their living fishing and lobstering.
