Lots of oportunities still available. The beach is going fast, almost gone.

Second and third row is really good for now. The properties on the north and south end of the island show the most potential for investment purposes.

We are looking forward to an incredible season. This will again raise real estate values.

spiker, as far as realtors, I prefer Billy (name removed at his request) at Casa Cayo. They are Go getters!

Hi

Just returned back from San Pedro a few days ago and already looking to return soon. I spent a day or two looking at various lots both north and south of town. I also spent a day watching the local construction. I am in the construction business in Saint louis and have been a journeyman carpenter since 1976. I do all trades and would love to come back to act as a General Contractor and use locals in the building of a building or two. I see the prices for new construction there is about a $100.00 per sf this is what two couples were paying when I talked to them. If you need a good builder, honest and get it done right let me know...only willing to come back there and build your project up to USA building codes using local tradesmen. Most of the building products available in town are priced much to the same as US prices but I did notice the lumber was a lot higher.

Cheers

There seems to be a very unscrupulous "developer" frequenting the island that is spreading these absolutely incredible stories.

We have had a large number of potential clients coming into our Sunise Realty sales office telling us about these new happenings on the island.

I guess as long as there are dreams there will be people chasing them.

Our philosophy in our office is - if it's physically there right now, you might be able to count on it being there a few years from now - however, if it isn't there now - don't believe it til you see it.

Buyer beware - only buy what you can see with your own eyes - all the rest of the stories are hopes and dreams.

All I can say is watch your a**!.Come check it out for yourself for a few months at least. Things change quite frequently, and getting permits, ect...can be a based on who you know, and how much money you plan to invest. The dream is real...the reality can be quite different.

The "story" that the Chamber of Commerce received is that Blackador Caye has been sold (and it was for sale), and that in conjunction with Cayo Espanto, the island will be divided into 11 very large lots. And that Robert DeNiro, Tiger Woods, and Leonardo DiCaprio have already purchased three of the Estates.

It is a great story, as many rumours on the island are. It entertains us, and sometimes they even have a basis in truth.

But following Amanda's wisdom of experience, "don't believe it til you see it"

My Eyes Have Seen: Blackadore has been judiciously "cleared" , tons of palm trees & other greenery left on the east coast; there are paths mowed through the sea of sawgrass that fills the rest of the island, there are 15' lot markers delineating very large lots, but none have "Tiger Woods" or "Leonardo" marked on them...

So get out there quick if you want to do any more treasure hunting before the dredges & bulldozers crush what's left.

........and an internationally famous director like Francis Coppola would never consider operating a small resort somewhere in Belize, Danny Glover would never ever consider setting up a foundation with Ms. Shabbaz, we laugh at the idea of Marion Jone's installing a runner's track in Belize City and and no, Di Caprio would never even think of buying a piece of "The Jewel".

These folks see what many of you have in Belize

Issac, you surprised me.I was expecting a negative response, as to why someone, even dicaprio would not like to buy a piece of belize aka a/c.From your description, people should be in line to get in ,while they can.Especially celebrities looking to get away from it all.Or did I misconstrue your meaning.reading Sandbenders comments,It seems the rumors one hears, may not be so farfetched after all.

Not at all. Read up a few previous posts. Dolphin is a member of the Chamber and his post is enlightening. You, of course, may believe whatever you choose to believe...it may be true for all any of us know.

I would, however, be surprised that three such famous folks would, at the very same time in the very same place, have bought relatively small (to them) properties.

My comment is more individually oriented.

Well..they were all here within the span of a few weeks. They all stayed at Cayo Espanto and I was told a ways back by Cayo Espanto staff that Blackador was purchased by Jeff Gram (Owner of Cayo Espanto)... so why not?

Rumores still persist about Tiger Woods, buying Prop for Golf Course north of Haberneros or in that vacinity.
With Blackadore selling now, can we expect more of same with others and rumores, still to come.
If true about Tiger, maybe I should look in that area for Property.
Know of any.
