Oh that so sucks. I was reading back posts and came across how you shipped everything there and got settled. It was a great story! So sorry! Hope everything will be okay!

It's a great little store. Beautiful books for children as well as adults. So glad to hear it will be staying. Sorry The Major and Cindy aren't. I'm sure they will be back soon at least for a visit. Glad to have met you both. Who bought Barney? I hope they keep the name!

Hey Guys! Karen Boudreaux and Rob Henley will be assuming the reins of the bookstore on Thursday, December 22. Please welcome them as warmly and support them as you have the Major and I. Rob is a licensed massage therapist and Karen is a travel industry professional. Both have a great love of books. The couple has recently made San Pedro their home. Welcome Rob and Karen!

Hey PhillyTodd,
As I am from Southern Louisiana and now further south than that....it is not considered polite to ask questions about money in public. LOL! And I am also from New Orleans....so I don't think I want to expose San Pedro to the bar and strippers thing. We are open to all suggestions and commentary, in good fun!! Please come in and introduce!

A "terric" business if you advertise have a swimming pool and are conveniently located-bunch of crap if the pool is a sometimes upright Walmart special pool which is about 10 feet wide and 3 feet deep, a location about 75 feet from the airport runway and a "5 min", "1/2 mile" walk to town that really equals running a 10 minute mile-guess what Pedro's Inn did

While not a big deal you obviously are unaware of the speed at which you walk. You do not walk anywhere near 6 MPH. Less than 1% of the population is even capable of RUNNING a 10 minute mile. Oh, and nice job with the math!

I just counted; only one tongue.
I'd patronize a book shop except that would mean I'd have to take the time to learn to read. That's hard to do when I'm swimming laps in the short pool and working on shaving seconds off my time in the mile.
Relay, anyone?
P1 and CJ: catch any fishies today? Who'd you fish wit'?

Re: Bookstore for Sale

Hey Everybody...... WOW!! this posting has seemed to take on a life of it's own! As we have only owned the bookstore for 3 weeks, I am amazed at the interest it has generated. I hope you all stop in and introduce yourselves.....we are always open to ideas and suggestions.
I have been coming to San Pedro for over 11 years and have lived down south in Belize prior to this. I have always been amazed that there was no bookstore of this type and we had already planned to open something once we arrived in San Pedro. So it seemed extremely serendipitous that Cindy was selling just after we got here. I just didn't realize it would generate such notoriety!!
Hope to see ya'll soon! Karen
P.S. PhillyTodd.....no southern sensibilities offended! Looking forward to meeting you in February!
P.S.S. Catatonic Motivator......no requirement that you can read.... just come in and say hello!

I'm a Pogo fan. Perhaps you recall Barnstable Bear?
Perhaps not. Sometimes Walt Kelly's not considered the consummate commentator those of us us believe he was, was.
Regardless, a bookshop can be a wonder...or a wander; really depends upon one's perspective and the stock on hand.
Best of luck. And do whatever you can to fulfill P1's suggestion. Great for business in a locale like SP, I'd offer.

Re: Bookstore for Sale

Hey Pedro1,
It is our plan to have the current reads in stock as soon as shipping allows. Once we get things in a groove hopefully we can have all requests within a very short period of time. Bear with us while we establish our contacts.
And yes, Catatonic....I do recall Pogo and Barnstable Bear. I'll have to see what's available!
I hope everyone will come in and say hello. We will be closed this Wednesday cuz we have to go over to Belize City for some business tomorrow and next day. But after that....give us a yell.
Karen

I got the pleasure of spending a few minutes and dollars in this bookstore last week. Glad it is still there and the new owner was nothing less than gracious and pleasant.
